Guys its time again for the annual Grand Slam hunt off Watamu, Kenya in Feb 2020. As usual, the early bird catches the best worm. Boats are starting to get booked at this time and the best boats go first. We are looking for a 25% deposit to get the best boat, and consecutive days.
Feb in Kenya is when people from all over the world come to catch Marlin. There are Sailfish, Black Marlin, Blue marlin, Striped Marlin and Broadbill at this time. A Grand Slam is any three caught in a 24hr period. This is the place to do it.
Typically, a group would be two to three anglers, accompanied by me.
The boat is a 35ft Bertram. The skipper is very accomplished and is a native of the area, having grown up there. He is accredited with the first 1000-pound marlin to be caught off the Kenya coast.
Flights are arranged from Johannesburg, or you can get a flight direct to Nairobi, then onto Malindi.
We had a very good run this year with 5 marlin, 5 sailfish in 6 days fishing.
The time is now to speak to me and let’s get a deposit on the boat, and then plan from there. There are many different accommodations to choose from, from beach cottages with self-catering to 5-star international hotels with full service.
Standard package is as follows per person, with a group of 3 anglers:
3 days fishing, 4 nights with meals, flights and airport transfers- zar 26 375
4 Days fishing, 5 nights with meals, flights and airport transfers- zar 31 175
This will be my 9th time to Watamu, so I know what needs to be done. I will be there with you to make sure everything runs smoothly. Now is the time to book, space is limited.
