Itinerary Sep 2018 to Aug 2019 Fishing and Spearfishing season Mozambique

Etienne Admin |09 Sep, 2018 | 0 Comments | Return|

Its September already, the weather is warming, and the fish are around. Time to go fishing!

September is Sailfish time in and around Inhambane Bay. Also, Yellowfin Tuna and Wahoo in the offing.

October/ November we are going up to Bazaruto Island, off Vilanculos, to do some Marlin fishing on FV Bounty. We also doing a spearfishing tour to Lazarus Banks off Pemba, Mozambique in October.

We will be in and around Inhambane Bay for December, to cater for the busiest time of the year. If you are staying at neighbouring resorts, then charter me for a few days fishing. All four of the boats are up and running, so you can choose a package that suits your group and budget.

January, we going to be targeting Big Fish in the deep (200 to 700m) off Barra and Tofo.

The first two weeks of February I’m taking two groups to Malindi, Kenya, to fish for Big Marlin off Malindi, Kenya, with one of the best-known skippers from Malindi. We are planning to do this annually. Guys, this is the historical best time to hunt marlin there, and space/good boats gets booked up well in advance, so speak to me about 2020 Feb soon.

March will be fishing/ spearfishing mostly off Pomene, working with a lodge there. We still have some place for groups and for individuals who are looking for a space on a boat.

April and May we fishing/ spearfishing out of Silver Fish Lodge, Maxixe Estuary, in and around the bay, and offshore.

June is the month that we want to go up to the Primieras and Segundos Islands and reefs off Pebane, north of Beira. (400 miles north). Let’s discuss putting a group together for either spearfishing, or Deep Sea fishing. We can do a live aboard, or a combination of liveaboard and stay at a local resort. This place is the best that Mozambique has to offer, but is remote, and sometimes the weather is unpredictable. Either way its an adventure you don’t want to miss.

Mid- end July the lodge will be closed until end of August to maintain the lodge and boats.

Good news is that nobody has died, so we have the normal crew that helped me in the last year. Alex, “fish cakes”, my excellent chef, is back for another year to serve up what he does best. Pedro, my fellow skipper and deckhand, is also back for another year. This will now be his fifth year with me. In addition to this we have an exciting new addition to the group, being Malcolm Mccann, an experienced skipper, commercial and recreational, with plenty hours boat work experience. Also, a qualified Boat Technician. He has fished extensively off Tanzania, South Africa and Mozambique. We welcome him and look forward to working with him offshore and with the boats. As you guys know, Mozambique doesn’t have qualified boat technicians around, and we used to bring them in from South Africa at considerable downtime and expense. Now we have someone on site, who can also fish/ skipper.

We are getting better all the time guys- now just for some Big Fish! Speak to me and get your reservations and the best weeks in.  Never be so busy making a living, that you forget to have a life! We your connection in Mozambique for Deep Sea fishing and Spearfishing.
