Schedule for FV Bounty 2018

Etienne Admin |13 Oct, 2017 | 0 Comments | Return|

FV Bounty, a 36ft Butt cat, catamaran hull, is a fully rigged marlin boat. It is our flagship model, and is loaded with extras to ensure overnight, and extended travel.

It is equipped with cabins for 3 guests, cooktop, fridge/freezer, toilet, and shower. It is category A rated, which means it is cleared or approved, and has the safety equipment, to go unlimited miles offshore. For example, a category B rated vessel is only permitted to go up to 40 nautical miles offshore. It is a walkaround cabin, so excellent for popping and jigging off the front deck. We have a marlin chair for Big Game and are fully rigged for Bill and Game fish. In metric terms, it is 10.5m long, and 3.85 m wide, with a flybridge.

FV Bounty carries 900l in the built-in tanks for fuel- petrol, and 188l fresh water, also in built-in tanks. In addition to this we have spare carrying capacity to carry more, if needed. Bounty is powered by twin 300hp Suzuki outboards, which is capable of 32 knots. We have a tender with a small outboard for shore excursions/ spearfishing.

It is perfect boat for charter for film crews, serious fishermen and spearfishermen. We can do extended trips of up to a week (fuel permitting).

We would like to use the boat to its potential, and do some serious adventures, tours, and expeditions in 2018. We are also open to other suggestions re destinations.

We have a sister vessel that already does Madagascar, i.e. Nosy Be and Castor banks, St Lazarus Banks, Pemba, and Bassas da India, between Mozambique and Madagascar.

Schedule for FV Bounty:

January and February 2018, it will be based in the Inhambane area, at Silver Fish Lodge.

March and April 2018, it will be based at Pomene (46 nautical miles to the north of Silver Fish Lodge, and due south of Bazaruto island). Pomene is well documented for excellent fishing and spearfishing, and at present we only have 3 weeks available from the 8 in this time. If you are interested in going here, we can organise airport transfers from Vilanculos, and shore-based accommodation for groups larger than 3. We can also organise more boats for larger groups.

May and June 2018 our plan is to take the boat up to Vilanculos/ Bazaruto Island for a week, resupply, and then head 200 miles north to the St David shoal, or otherwise known as the Primieros and Segundos islands. This is a series of 5 offshore islands situated north east of Quelimane (which in turn is situated north of Beira) There is an airport at Quelimane for pickup of guests. This area is very unexplored as it is difficult to get to, is remote, and doesn’t have fresh water that I know about. I believe it was once a location that was being considered for the TV show survivor series. The islands are situated about 30 miles off the coast, so local people don’t venture there. It is the remoteness that is appealing, and I’m really looking forward to going there. Reports say PLENTY of fish.

July, August, and September Bounty will be back at Silver Fish Lodge, Inhambane, Inhambane Province

October, November 2018, Bounty will be going back to Vilanculos/ Bazaruto to fish the Marlin season once again. Our sister vessel will be in the St Lazarus Banks, Pemba area from September until mid-Dec, as is custom every year.

December 2018 back to Silver Fish Lodge for the Christmas season.
