I am absolutely thrilled and excited to announce that we have a new boat in our stable for fishing. I have partnered with an old friend, John Cowing, who shares my excitement for fishing. I’m bringing her up from South Africa at the end of May, 2017, ie. next month.
It’s a 36ft Butt cat hull (38ft overall with outmounts) that has a beam of 12 ft . She is powered by 2 x 300 hp Suzukis, with a spacious flybridge, outriggers,marlin fighting chair, and good electronics (Furuno). She is certified for 8, and has just been seaworthied.
She can sleep 6 comfortably, has a head with toilet, basin and shower. A good sized cabin, with plenty of shade, and comfortable seating with lying down bunks, if needed. Lunch will be served at a table……
We can carry 2 tons of fish in huge ice boxes at the back. The range is good enough to reach the Bazaruto Archepelico, which lies 124 miles north of Silver Fish Lodge. Pomene is just 46 miles north, and we plan to offer extended fishing trips to both of these, either with a sleep on board option, or working with lodges and hotels in the area. We have a Sea Mountain that comes up to 300m from 1000m that lies 30 miles east off the Barra point, Inhambane. This place has a proven reputation for Marlin and Big Tuna, as it has huge upwelling on the south side due to the current.
This boat increases our options by a hell of a lot.
Opening specials will be ZAR 8 k per day, with fuel extra. This price is valid until the end of June, 2017, with a paid reservation of 25% deposit before end June. It’s a serious boat for serious fishing.
The flybridge offers excellent vision from up there, so once again, we have better chances to find bigger fish.
The launch is from www.silverfishlodge.co.za, Just inside Linga linga, Inhambane, Mozambique, inside an estuary, which is protected, safe and sheltered. There are no waves at the mouth of the estuary.
