Fishing Areas:

Bassas da India, an atoll situated 240 nautical miles due East of Vilanculos, Mozambique. This is a ten and a half kilometre in diameter atoll that comes up to surface of the water from a 3000 meter bottom. It is halfway between the Mozambique coast and Madagascar coast and keeps an incredible amount of Game fish and Bill fish. Takes about a day and a half to get there depending on weather conditions. Plenty of fish- more than what you can handle, and you can fish from sunrise to sunset. There are daily direct flight from Johannesburg, South Africa to Vilanculos.

Quirimbas Archipelago are 32 islands with the most popular among Fishermen probably being St Lazarus Banks which at its shallowest is about 8meters. This is located in the north of Mozambique. St Lazarus banks is situated about 120 kilometres from the coastline, and by the next morning, when you awake, you will be fishing. Port of entry will be Pemba, and there are daily flights from Johannesburg, South Africa to Pemba.

Primeiras and Segundas off Pebane are a series of schoals and Islands between Quilemane and Angoshe in Northern Mozambique, the most famous being Davids schoal. About 150 kilometers of reef and islands that are remote and seldom fished. These five islands are uninhabited. Situated about 25-40 kilometers offshore. Fly into Quilemane.Recommended trip of at least seven days all aboard the yacht.

Nacala, situated between Beira and Pemba. It has a natural deepwater bay going down to 60m, and a drop off going to 300m not far from the mouth of the bay. It is not fished much, and there are daily direct flights into Nacala from OR Tambo, Johannesburg, South Africa. Very undeveloped with little fishing pressure. Just south is the world heritage site of Ilha De Mozambique. This place has huge history- was once the Capital of East Africa- well worth the visit.

Vilanculos Archipelago are five islands in and around Vilanculos with the most popular place to fish being the eastern and northern end of Bazaruto Island. This is where the home of the All Africa Black marlin record of 1446 pounds comes from. Excellent Marlin fishing and game fishing between September and May every year. On 12th October 2015 an est 1000 pound Marlin was caught off Bazaruto, which was subsequently mauled by a big shark. This place is current, and also has daily flights into Vilanculos from Johannesburg, South Africa, and from Maputo, Mozambique.

Pomene, this is an area between Inhambane and Bazaruto Island and offers a fairly shallow dive for Spear fishermen. Many areas are 12 to 15 meters, so perfect for everybody. It is remote and difficult to get to by road, and therefore well worth the visit.

There will be an experienced Captain, chef and Fishing Guide to accompany you on your trip.
